The Meaning Behind the Message

Revelation 19:16 gives us one of the most powerful declarations of who Jesus is:

"On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."

This isn't just a title. It's a declaration of absolute authority.

King of Kings

King – A ruler with authority over a kingdom
King of Kings – The ruler over all rulers, the authority above all authorities

Jesus isn't just a king. He's THE King. The King above all kings. Every earthly ruler, every president, every prime minister, every authority—they all bow to Him.

1 Timothy 6:15 says, "God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords."

Psalm 47:2 declares, "For the LORD Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth."

Daniel 2:47 proclaims, "Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings."

Lord of Lords

Lord – A master, a ruler, one who has authority
Lord of Lords – The master over all masters, the ultimate authority

Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth. Nothing is outside His control. No power is greater than His. He is Lord over everything.

Matthew 28:18 says, "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.'"

Philippians 2:9-11 declares, "Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Colossians 1:15-17 proclaims, "The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

Why This Matters

When you carry this backpack, you're not just carrying your stuff. You're carrying a declaration of who Jesus is.

You're declaring:

Jesus is King – Over my life, my future, my everything
Jesus is Lord – I submit to His authority
Jesus reigns – No matter what the world says
Jesus is worthy – Of all honor, glory, and praise

Revelation 5:12 says, "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"

The Context: Revelation 19

Revelation 19 describes the return of Jesus as the conquering King. He's not coming back as a humble servant this time—He's coming back as the victorious King who will judge the earth and establish His kingdom forever.

Revelation 19:11-16 says:

"I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. 'He will rule them with an iron scepter.' He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."

Jesus is coming back. And when He does, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord.

Carry His Name Boldly

Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes."

When you carry this backpack, you're not ashamed to declare who Jesus is. You're boldly proclaiming His name in every classroom, every workplace, every gym, every street.

Mark 8:38 warns, "If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."

2 Timothy 1:8 encourages, "So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord."

This backpack is a conversation starter. People will ask about it. And when they do, you get to tell them about the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
